With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

PREAMBLE
The Awards for Musical Excellence In Nigeria (AMEN) is designed as an annual ceremony where distinguished Nigerian artistes are decorated for the impressive impact their music made in the outgoing year.
The award will also recognise distinguished music technocrats and aficionados who work strenuously behind the ‘scene’. Other categories that may be rewarded, include promoters, print media, journalists (minus the organisers), radio/TV presenters, etc.
A prestigious special recognition award shall be given to an African virtuoso of music or related accomplishment.
AMEN shall be held in the first quarter of each year, in consonance with the trend of Awards all over the world.
This is the 9th edition of the Award ceremony. The last one was held on Friday, July 1, 2005. At the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

THE ORGANISERS
The Awards for Musical Excellence in Nigeria, AMEN, is organised by Academy of Creative Arts in Nigeria, ACAN.
This body was established by Encomiums Board of Awards, otherwise known as the Awards Governing Council. It is made up of reputable members of the entertainment, media and allied industry and other members of the society with a strong bias for the development of creative arts in Nigeria just as it obtains in advanced countries.
The Academy sits three times in a year to strategise and to develop plans for the award. Their primary responsibility is to vote for who wins what at the awards ceremony.

THE SCOPE
AMEN has become to Nigerian artistes what Grammy is to the music circuit in America. Over the past nine years, we have been consistent in hosting the Awards.
Majority of the artistes that have won AMEN have grown to become international stars. This was evident at the just concluded KORA Awards where the following artistes: Tu Face, Sammie Okposo, Folake Umosen, Adewale Ayuba, etc. who had won AMEN went on to win at the KORA.
Truly, AMEN, Awards for Musical Excellence in Nigeria, is the award to beat and copy.
