With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

  CHATTING WITH DR. BABATUNDE OKEWALE

There is no doubt, St. Ives Hospital, is one of the best around, with its serene environment and proficient nurses. The Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Babatunde Okewale, in his office recently, chatted with City Scenes about their free medical services coming up between October 1st to 8th and other interesting issues. Read on…

Come October 1st to 8th, 2006, St. Ives will be offering free medical services, what informed this?

What the management is doing is like a pay-back to our patients in Opebi axis, who have stood by us for a very long time. St. Ives will be offering a free medical consultation, general physical examination, counseling and advice and free treatment.

You recently marked the 10th anniversary of St. Ives. How do you feel?

We feel very fulfilled from the report we've been hearing from our patients. They are very happy about the new outlets and St. Ives generally.

How was growing up like?

I had a pleasant experience while growing up. I grew up in two towns: Ibadan, where I had my secondary education and then Abeokuta where I went to The Polytechnic and eventually back in Ibadan again for my basic medical education, before I traveled to London.
